The Archer spacedock is a a technologically advanced space station in service to Starfleet and the Federation of a possible 32nd century.

History[]

The Archer spacedock was commissioned in early 3190 to upgrade the existing fleet and become the staging ground for designing new classes and constructing the next generation Starfleet forces.

President Laira Rallik unveiled it to the Federation public in a commencement address featuring the crew of the USS Discovery-A where she gave special thanks to Michael Burnham.

Technical data[]

Location[]

It is situated in open space within the Alpha quadrant arm of the Milky way galaxy close to Starfleet Headquarters.

Life support[]

  1. Gravity plating
  2. Reinforced heat shield
  3. Reinforced radiation shield
  4. Replicators
  5. Oxygen generators

Design[]

The facility included habitable zones large enough to hold the entirety of several starship crews as well as several drafting rooms for craft design. The Habitable zones feature recreational facilities resembling that of an extremely big mess hall with a plethora of chairs, tables, replicators and a computerised view overlooking the docked vessels.

Physically, it took the form of a dark coloured, free-standing cage with light panels and extendable construction arms with programmable matter nozzles. The cage was large enough to contain multiple Federation starships whilst retaining plenty of room.

It has "plenty" of office space and quarters as well as a large auditorium for speeches as seen during the unveiling by the Federation President. Archer spacedock features dilithium refineries and Deuterium stores for refueling ships. It also has a communication array using soliton wave enhanced subspace channels.

Production rate[]

Currently unknown but capable of retrofitting at least three vessels at once including a Janeway class over a short time period.

At least one Kepler class over an unknown amount of time though it was built using scavenged components shortening construction time.

Tactical[]

While within its defense perimeter, ships had to remain at one-half impulse until they cleared the outer markers. In addition, all incoming vessels were scanned for Federation signatures at which point being identitifed as such have to verify their security clearance or citizen identification code. Any vessel that refused to acknowledge hails were to be intercepted by one of the home vessels.

Defensive systems[]

  • Deflector shields: The station boasted a high-capacity shield grid to protect itself from various threats, such as impacts from bolides and debris, various space-related and energetic phenomena and hostile weaponry. It is self-adaptive and capable of auto-regeneration.

Energy generation[]

It utilises a series impulse reactors that make use of a nuclear fusion process, fueled by deuterium, to create energised plasma that is then distributed across a polaric conduit managed EPS grid.
