The Ares class is a technologically advanced type of starship utilised by Starfleet during the 23rd century.
History[]
Launched during the Klingon-Federation war, the Ares class was named after the Earth greek god of war. It was one of the first pure warships designed and built by the Federation.
A counter to the Klingon D6 battlecruiser, the Ares class ship would officially be labeled as a ‘heavy destroyer’ due to its size.

The class is equipped with an advanced warp drive system powered by a matter x antimatter reactor. It utilises the Alcubierre concept ie: compressing space-time around the exterior.

- Torpedo launchers: The class is secondly armed with eight torpedo launch banks; 4 forward, 4 aft. They shoot out self-propelled torpedoes each equipped with a photon warhead.

- Deflector shields: It boasted a high-capacity shield grid to protect itself from various threats, such as impacts from bolides and debris, various space-related and energetic phenomena and hostile weaponry.
Energy generation[]
The vessel is powered via multiple sources including; an Anti-Matter x Matter drive which generated enormous amounts of power through explosive collisions releasing pure light (energy) which is then harnessed directly into FTL and several other systems and regulated through a matrix of magnets and dilithium.

- Each member species of the Federation helped in the ship’s design. The propulsion and environmental were designed by the Vulcans, phasers and hull by the Andorians, deflector shields + torpedo systems by Humans, and structural integrity + power systems by the Tellarites.
