B'Elanna Torres-Halliwell is a female Human/Klingon hybrid who is a Starfleet officer in the 24th century, born in 2349, noted for serving on board the USS Voyager while it was trapped in the Delta Quadrant.
By the year 2399, she worked her way up through the ranks to eventually become a commodore, and served as Chief of Starfleet Engineering. In 2394, her husband Tom was killed during a mission, B'Elanna later married her long time friend and crewmate Typhuss James Halliwell from the USS Voyager, a few weeks after Tom's death.
