The Battle of Hebridan was the fourth battle of the Federation-Der'kal War, and demonstrated for the first time the destructive power of the Der'kal fleet even when the odds weren't stacked in its favor. In a conflict that lasted barely long enough for Federation reinforcements to arrive from Earth, the Hebridanian Federation was utterly annihilated.
The majority of the population was killed outright in orbital bombardment and the surface of the planet was reduced to an uninhabitable wasteland. Within hours, the Serrakin race and its offshoot were declared to be on the verge of extinction.
