A Beam weapon satellite is a satellite version of the ship-board quantum phasers, the beam satellite weapon was developed by the Asgard prior to their extinction, the plans for which were stored in the computer core they installed on board the USS Odyssey. Following the Battle of Earth the Federation began to construct a defence network of these satellites to protect Earth, other prominent off-world bases such as the Alpha Site on P4X-650.
