Captain Brianna Martin is a female Human who served in the Federation Starfleet in the 24th century, commanding the Defiant-class USS Independence in the 2370s.

Martin was born on 5th March 2335 at Starbase 39-Sierra along the Romulan Neutral Zone.
Starfleet career[]
Starfleet Academy[]
Martin entered Starfleet Academy in 2358. While attending, she befriended a Bajoran named Ro Laren. Brianna graduated in 2362.
USS Hood[]
Her first assignment was the USS Hood, Robert DeSoto commanding. William T. Riker served as the executive officer for the first two of her seven years on the Hood. Martin was posted as helm officer.
During William Riker's last night on the Hood, he and Brianna had a one-night stand.
The Hood attempted to mediate a dispute on Balarin II in 2364. Brianna made heroic efforts to save some representatives of the meeting when the gathering was targeted by one of the factions. For her actions, she was awarded the Prentares Ribbon of Commendation and promoted to full Lieutenant; once promoted she chose a security position.
In 2369, Aurelia earned the Extended Tour Ribbon and a promotion to Lieutenant Commander. She was reassigned to the USS Victory.
