Caitlin "Kate" Todd was a female Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) Special Agent who was a former presidential protection division of Starfleet Security Agent assigned to the Presidental Protective Detail on board Air Force One, she later quit the presidential protection division of Starfleet Security for good and joined NCIS before being assigned to the Major Case Response Team, becoming the third member of the team as well as the Junior Agent of the team and Anthony DiNozzo's second partner.
However, her NCIS career which had the promise of great things came to an abrupt and very tragic end when Kate died after being shot in the head by Ari Haswari.
Kate's position on the team which was left vacant after her death was later taken over by Ari's half-sister, Ziva David who joined the team as the NCIS liaison officer and later became an NCIS Special Agent while Kate's former psychological profiling abilities were taken over by Donald Mallard.
Personality[]
Headstrong and determined, Kate, as a Starfleet Security Agent seemed unwilling to give NCIS any information for the investigation but later softened before agreeing to help them. She later quit Starfleet Security for good after having a relationship with a colleague of hers and joined NCIS straightaway, becoming the "Probie" of the team. At first, she seemed to be very weak when it came to shooting but gradually improved over time.
Legacy[]
Although Kate's career at NCIS was short-lived, she left a deep and lasting impression on her NCIS colleagues and her memory has survived on in their hearts and minds.

After Kate's death, Typhuss had visions of Kate, one of which had her in a black catsuit similar to that of Trinity from the Matrix.

The suit then became a BDSM-styled costume complete with a whip causing Typhuss to remark that he was turning into Tony.
