In the mirror universe, the Capital Gain was a Defiant-class warship constructed by the Terran Rebellion based on the Starfleet Defiant-class starships from the primary universe.
After the Terran Rebellion on Terok Nor in the mirror universe built their own Defiant, Zek and Bashir turned the abandoned Empok Nor station into a shipyard capable of producing up to twelve Defiant-class starships at one time. The Capital Gain was the first ship produced there, and was captained by Zek.
Like the rest of the Defiant-class warships, the Capital Gain was equipped with a Romulan cloaking device. After Empok Nor and the other Defiant-class ships were destroyed by the IKS Ya'Vang, the Capital Gain was captured and its cloaking device fell into the hands of the Alliance.
