The Deep space One, also referred to as DS1, was one of MACO's top outer system facilities in a possible 22nd century.

It is powered by a number of impulse reactors, fueled by deuterium, which utilises a nuclear fusion process to generate energised plasma that is then fed directly into systems.

It is located in the Alpha Quadrant specifically in a lot of empty space at the coordinates 7-4 Mark 5.6.

The base features three phase cannons that fire pulsed beams of red nadion particle discharge at a target.
Defensive systems[]
It was surrounded by a dense minefield of alien origin that contained blade mines and blackout mines in addition to conventional explosive mines.
Incoming vessels were required to take a circuitous route to avoid them.
