The Delta Flyer class is a technologically advanced type of shuttlecraft employed by Starfleet of the Burn universe during the 32nd century.
History[]
Technical data[]
Life support[]
- Oxygen generators
- Inertia dampeners
- Gravity plating
- Heat shield
- Radiation shield
Propulsion[]
The Delta Flyer's propulsion systems and hull integrity allowed the vessel to operate under water.
Sub-light[]
It featured a standard 32nd century impulse drive in addition it employed retractable impulse thrusters that greatly increased the shuttle's impulse speed when deployed. The drive is nuclear fusion powered which fuels a massive magnetic coil to propel the shuttle. It is a form of magnetohydrodynamic or magnetoplasmadynamic thrusters.
Tactical[]
Weapon systems[]
Phasers[]
It is armed with eight phaser emitter arrays that fire pulsed beams of tetryon-plasma particle discharge at a target.
Torpedoes[]
The class is secondly tarmed with two torpedo launch banks that shoots out self-propelled micro-torpedoes each equipped with photon warheads.
Defensive systems[]
- Deflector shields: For protection, Delta Flyer class shuttles employs a deflector shield bubble comprised out of layered electromagnetic energy infused with gravitons which absorbs kinetic impacts and energy discharge.
Energy generation[]
It utilises one impulse reactor, fueled by deuterium, which utilises a nuclear fusion process to produce energised plasma that is then distributed to the systems.
Interior design[]
Command and control systems[]
The cockpit of Delta Flyer-class shuttles featured workstations for tactical, operations, and engineering personnel. The helm was located in the front of the cockpit. While the tactical, ops, and engineering stations featured a standard Federation LCARS interface, equipped with holographic displays.
Crew accommodation[]
The Flyer's relatively large size permitted comforts not standard to Federation shuttlecraft. The vessel featured a large aft compartment that featured a retractable biobed for medical situations. Despite this inclusion, the Delta Flyer's medical accommodations were limited and primarily intended to stabilize a patient until they could get back to base or a starship for treatment.
Work stations were featured on either side of the bed and replicators were located at various points inside the craft.
Materials[]
- Hull
- The exterior frame of the shuttle is comprised out of neutronium alloy panels with the windows being made from aluminium glass.
