Earth-89 was one of the many universes in the original multiverse.
History[]
Earth-89 was destroyed by antimatter at the beginning of the Anti-Monitor Crisis.
When the Paragons and the Spectre created the new multiverse, a new universe of Earth-89 was created, which is said to be identical to this universe of Earth-89.
Batman was a lone vigilante who took on crime and corruption in Gotham by himself. In sharp contrast to most realities, his parents were the victims of a mobster called Jack Napier, who would later become a deranged criminal calling himself "the Joker". The Dark Knight also fought battles with other like-minded criminals, including sewer dwelling mobster Penguin, corrupt corporate mogul Max Shreck, and the feline vigilante Catwoman. Bruce Wayne also romanced with photojournalist Vicki Vale and secretary Selina Kyle. Several other accounts suggest the version also fought fallen District Attorney Two-Face and mentored the vigilante Robin.
The reality also temporarily merged with another universe when the latter's version of the Flash went back in time to prevent his mother's murder, though this was later undone after a later attempt which exonerated his father.
