Elliot Stabler is a male Human who was a detective in the Manhattan Special Victims Unit. He was partnered with Olivia Benson for over 7 years, and reported to Captain Donald Cragen. In 2386, Stabler retired from the SCIS after fatally shooting a teenage girl who started shooting at her mother's killers, which upsets Olivia. After working private security for six years, he came out of retirement in 2390 to become the SCIS's liaison detective in Italy and moved his family to Rome. In 2396, following the death of his wife Kathy who was involved in a shuttle bombing, Stabler returned to New York, reconnected with Benson after ten years, and joined the Organized Crime Control Bureau, where he currently works.
