Ex Oblivion is the 12th episode of Star Trek: The New Voyages in TOS Season 1.
Synopsis[]
After receiving a distress call from the Earth cargo ship the ECS Jamestown the crew of the USS Enterprise encounters Kyle a discharged Starfleet officer, but something has changed in him as he's been infected by an unknown parasite.

EXT. WARP SPACE [OPTICAL]
The Enterprise travels to the last known position of the ECS Jamestown.
INT. MAIN BRIDGE, USS ENTERPRISE
The crew are at their stations.
[TURBOLIFT DOORS WHOOSHED OPENED] As Captain Branson wearing his green wrap around uniform walks onto the bridge.
CPT. BRANSON: Report?
Lieutenant Smith turns from the communications console and reports.
LTJG. SMITH: Negative response from the Jamestown sir I'm not even getting their distress beacon anymore.
Captain Branson walks to the command well after Commander Ivanova vacates the Captain's chair and sits down in the chair.
ENS. CARLSON: We're approaching the last known position of the Jamestown sir.
CPT. BRANSON: Red Alert! Shields up ready weapons drop us out of warp.
EXT. FEDERATION SPACE [OPTICAL]
A burst of light as the Enterprise emerges from warp.
INT. MAIN BRIDGE, USS ENTERPRISE [RED ALERT]
ANGLE - TRANSPARENT VIEWER [OPTICAL]
shows the debris field of the Jamestown.
REACTION FROM THE CREW
CPT. BRANSON: T'Lar?
Commander T'Lar looks into her scanner scope.
LCDR. T'LAR [re: scanner scope]: No biosigns, I'm reading several bodies all humans.
CPT. BRANSON: Is one of them Kyle?
Commander T'Lar stands up and turns to face Captain Branson.
LCDR. T'LAR: Negative, sir but I'll have to work with Steven to compare Mister Clarkson's bioreadings with the bodies to be sure.
ANGLE - TACTICAL MONITOR SCREEN [OPTICAL]
shows the weapons signature confirmed, and Hadon count 147, but he switches it off.
CPT. BRANSON: Can you tell who did this?
Lieutenant Mason turns to report.
LTJG. MASON: No, sir. I'll have to bring aboard some of the debris and analyze it.
CPT. BRANSON: Scan for their data recorder. It might tell us something.
John walks back to the Captain's chair as Commander T'Lar reports.
LCDR. T'LAR: Captain, long range scanners have detected an unknown vessel on an intercept course.
CPT. BRANSON: Let's see it.
ANGLE - TRANSPARENT VIEWER [OPTICAL]
shows the small craft on an intercept course.
LCDR. T'LAR: Sensors are detecting one biosign readings are highly erratic.
CPT. BRANSON: Julia, open a channel to the craft.
Lieutenant Smith taps commands into the communications console.
LTJG. SMITH: No response sir.
LTJG. MASON: Detecting an energy spike!
[BOOM!] As everyone braces themselves.
EXT. FEDERATION SPACE [OPTICAL]
The small Federation scout shuttle fires its phaser bolts at the Enterprise hitting her port shield armor as they flicker and crackle.

The scout shuttle fires several phaser bolts at the Enterprise.
INT. MAIN BRIDGE, USS ENTERPRISE [RED ALERT]
[BOOM!] As everyone braces themselves as sparks erupt from the ceiling and Master Display Screen.
LTJG. MASON: Port shields down to 87%!
CPT. BRANSON: Evasive pattern delta seven.
Ensign Carlson taps commands into the helm station.
EXT. SPACE [OPTICAL]
The Enterprise dodges a few torpedo volleys.
INT. MAIN BRIDGE, USS ENTERPRISE [RED ALERT]
Smoke fills the bridge as Captain Branson sits in the Captain's chair and turns to Lieutenant Mason.
CPT. BRANSON: Mister Mason ready phasers minimal yield I don't want to destroy the shuttle I only want to spook them.
Lieutenant Mason taps commands into the tactical console.
LTJG. MASON: Phasers ready and power is at 25%.
CPT. BRANSON: Fire!
Lieutenant Mason presses the firing button.
EXT. SPACE [OPTICAL]
The Enterprise fires her forward phaser ball turrets as two blue energy beams lance out as one of the beams struck the port shields of the scout shuttle.
INT. MAIN BRIDGE, USS ENTERPRISE [RED ALERT]
Smoke everywhere from damaged relays and conduits.
LCDR. T'LAR: Minimal damage to the port shields of the shuttle I am losing sensor contact it has gone into a nearby nebula.
Captain Branson looks at T'Lar.
CPT. BRANSON: Right now T'Lar we've got to figure out who was flying that shuttle and also figure out what happened aboard the Jamestown keep sensors trained on that nebula if he comes out I wanna know.
LCDR. T'LAR [nods]: Aye, sir.
EXT. SPACE [OPTICAL]
The Enterprise's at station keeping.
INT. CAPTAIN'S READY ROOM/SITUATION ROOM, USS ENTERPRISE [RED ALERT]
The senior staff are around the table.
LCDR. WILLIAMS: Our port nacelle took a bit of damage in the fight as of right now warp drive is offline.
CPT. BRANSON: How long until we have warp back?
LCDR. WILLIAMS: A few hours.
CPT. BRANSON: Keep me posted.
She nods and EXITS the briefing room.
CPT. BRANSON: We need to find out who was aboard that shuttle.
LCDR. T'LAR: Both me and Lieutenant Smith was able to analyze the data recorder from the Jamestown.
CPT. BRANSON: And?
Both officers look at each other.
LTJG. SMITH: You're not going to like it sir.
She taps commands into the panel.
ANGLE - WALL MONITOR [OPTICAL]
shows the sensor data on what happened aboard the Jamestown.
[SCREEN FIZZES]
LTJG. SMITH: All other attempts to recover additional information has failed.
CPT. BRANSON: Why would Kyle attack them from what he's told me before he stopped talking to me is that he came to think of the crew as his second family.
LCDR. IVANOVA: Something must of happened between here and where the Jamestown last stopped at which was at Starbase 6.
DR. CARLSON: I've gone over the medical data from the Jamestown's medical officer on Commander Clarkson and his bio readings are very erratic.
John turns to T'Lar.
CPT. BRANSON: T'Lar you mentioned something about his biosigns being highly erratic?
LCDR. T'LAR [nods]: Yes, sir.
Captain Branson leans forward.
CPT. BRANSON: We need some sort of way to catch him before anyone else gets hurt.
[COM CHIRPS] As Ensign Mitchell comes over the com.
ENS. MITCHELL [com voice]: Captain, sensors have detected the scout shuttle on an intercept course
CPT. BRANSON [to com]: We're on our way.
The rest of the senior staff EXITS the briefing room.
EXT. SPACE [OPTICAL]
The scout shuttle fires at the Enterprise striking her shield armor making it flicker and crackle.
[BLACKOUT, END OF ACT 1]

FADE IN
INT. MAIN BRIDGE, USS ENTERPRISE [RED ALERT]
[BOOM!] As everyone braces themselves.
LTJG. MASON: Shields are down to 80% and holding.
CPT. BRANSON: Prepare to lock phasers keeping them at minimal power.
Lieutenant Mason taps commands into the tactical console.
LTJG. MASON: Phasers are ready sir.
Commander T'Lar turns to report.
LCDR. T'LAR: Captain, the shuttle is heading back towards the nebula.
CPT. BRANSON: Kara?
ENS. CARLSON: We're right behind him.
EXT. OUTER EDGE OF NEBULA [OPTICAL]
The Enterprise flies behind the shuttle.
INT. MAIN BRIDGE, USS ENTERPRISE [RED ALERT]
ANGLE - TRANSPARENT VIEWER [OPTICAL]
shows the aft section of the shuttle.
CPT. BRANSON: Julia, open a channel.
Lieutenant Smith taps commands into the com console.
LTJG. SMITH: Channel opened sir.
CPT. BRANSON [to com]: Kyle, this is John. Shut down your engines, lower your shields, prepare for transport.
LTJG. SMITH: No response sir.
John gets up and walks to the viewer.
CPT. BRANSON [to com]: Kyle, you have my word. I'm here to listen. I'm here to help you regain your career.
ANGLE - TRANSPARENT VIEWER [OPTICAL]
shows Kyle's shuttle firing at the nebula igniting it.
CPT. BRANSON: Did we lose him?
ENS. CARLSON: No, sir.
LCDR. T'LAR: He ignited the nebula's hydrogen to disrupt our sensors, then came to a full stop.
LCDR. IVANOVA: We flew right past him.
CPT. BRANSON: Kara, come around.
Ensign Carlson brings the ship about.
ANGLE - TRANSPARENT VIEWER [OPTICAL]
shows the aft section of Kyle's shuttle.
ENS. MITCHELL: He's increased speed. altering course to entering the nebula.
LCDR. T'LAR: Captain, if he goes into that nebula we will lose all sensor contact.
CPT. BRANSON: Jack, target that shuttle with a class-5 torpedo. Detonate it 100 meters before impact. Understood?
LTJG. MASON: Aye, Captain.
Lieutenant Mason taps commands into the tactical console.
CPT. BRANSON: Fire!
EXT. SPACE [OPTICAL]
The port launcher shot out a class-5 torpedo as it speeds towards the shuttle it detonates at 100 meters sending out a shockwave that causes the shuttle to spin.
INT. MAIN BRIDGE, USS ENTERPRISE [RED ALERT]
Commander T'Lar turns from her station.
LCDR. T'LAR: Shuttle has been disabled sir.
CPT. BRANSON: Ty, lock on a tractor beam and reel the shuttle into the bay. Mason, T'Lar with me Z you've got the bridge.
CUT TO:
INT. MAIN SHUTTLE BAY, USS ENTERPRISE [RED ALERT]
A security team enters wearing tactical vests and armed with type-3 phaser rifles set to stun.
LTJG. MASON: Set phasers to stun.
CPT. BRANSON: Nobody fires without my direct orders.
[The shuttle's rear hatch opened as Kyle comes rushing out of the shuttle as he tosses a few security officers around, as he turns to see John and he rushes towards him. And the two are on the ground as John keeps Kyle's hands from grabbing his throat as the two struggle on the floor then T'Lar comes up from behind and uses the Vulcan nerve pinch causing Kyle to pass out and fall to the floor.]
CPT. BRANSON: Thanks T'Lar.
LCDR. T'LAR: You are welcome Captain.
She helps him up.
CPT. BRANSON: Get him to sickbay have Doctor Carlson put him in restrains.
Two guards carry Kyle out of the shuttle bay.
EXT. SPACE [OPTICAL]
The Enterprise is at impulse speed.
INT. SICKBAY, USS ENTERPRISE
Kyle struggles to get out of the restrains.
KYLE: RELEASE ME! I WANT OUT OF HERE! TRAITORS!
John turns to Doctor Carlson.
CPT. BRANSON: What's wrong with him Steven?
DR. CARLSON: I'm not sure but whatever it is John its causing his neural pathways to be severally degraded mostly here at the prefrontal cortex of the brain.
John looks at him.
CPT. BRANSON: What do you propose?
DR. CARLSON: Neural surgery but I need to gather more medical scans before I know that it'll be safe to do it.
John walks over to the biobed.
JOHN: Kyle, its me John can you hear me?
[KYLE GRUNTING AND GROWLING] As John looks at him.
JOHN: Kyle, we're trying to help you but you need to tell me what happened why did you kill the people aboard the Jamestown? And why did you start attacking my ship?
[KYLE GRUNTS AND GROWLS] As John stands up and walks over to Doctor Carlson.
CPT. BRANSON: Do what you can Steven.
DR. CARLSON: Aye, sir.
Captain Branson EXITS sickbay as Kyle calms down a bit as he's drenched in sweat and mumbling to himself as Nurse Chapel wipes his forehead with a damp washcloth.
DR. CARLSON: Let's get him prep for neural surgery.
NURSE CHAPEL: Yes, Doctor.
INT. CAPTAIN'S READY ROOM/SITUATION ROOM, USS ENTERPRISE
ANGLE - MONITOR SCREEN [OPTICAL]
shows the office of Fleet Admiral Barnes at Starfleet Command.
FADM. BARNES [monitor]: So it was Commander Clarkson who destroyed the Jamestown
CPT. BRANSON: It seems that way sir he's currently in sickbay being prep for neural surgery it seems he's been infected with neural parasite that has done a bit of damage to his prefrontal cortex.
FADM. BARNES [monitor]: Your orders are to rendezvous with the USS Marie Curie one of our newly launched medical frigates they'll take him to Starbase 5 for further treatment
CPT. BRANSON: Sir, the medical staff there will deem him crazy and lock him up forever.
FADM. BARNES [monitor]: You have your orders Captain I've already diverted the Marie Curie to your location Barnes out
ANGLE - MONITOR SCREEN [OPTICAL]
shows the Federation symbol underneath it says: END TRANSMISSION.
John leans back in the chair.
INT. MAIN ENGINEERING, USS ENTERPRISE
An engineering panel is opened as Ensign Payne's repairing the warp plasma conduits.
LCDR. WILLIAMS: What's new Harris?
He turns to her.
ENS. PAYNE: We'll have warp in a few hours Commander.
She pats his shoulder.
LCDR. WILLIAMS: That's good.
INT. SICKBAY, USS ENTERPRISE
Doctor Carlson and his medical staff are preparing Kyle for neural surgery.
[SICKBAY DOORS WHOOSHED OPENED] As Captain Branson enters.
DR. CARLSON: Captain, I was just about to call you about my medical scans of Commander Clarkson's neural pathways.
He leads the Captain to the biobed.
ANGLE - MONITOR [OPTICAL]
shows Kyle's brain scan.
DR. CARLSON: As you can see the neural parasite has wrapped itself around his cerebral cortex.
CPT. BRANSON: Have you found away to remove it without killing him?
DR. CARLSON: I think so.
CPT. BRANSON: Steven, I spoke with Starfleet they're wanting to send Kyle to Starbase 5's medical ward.
Doctor Carlson looks at him.
DR. CARLSON: Sir, they'll dump him in the psyche ward.
CPT. BRANSON: I know Steven believe me I know just get him well enough to tell me why he attacked the Jamestown and her crew.
[COM CHIRPS] As Commander Ivanova comes over the com.
LCDR. IVANOVA [com voice]: Bridge to Branson
Captain Branson walks over to the com panel and toggles the com panel.
CPT. BRANSON [to com]: Branson here go ahead Z.
LCDR. IVANOVA [com voice]: We've got a Federation vessel on an intercept course its the Harrison
Both John and Steven look at each other.
CPT. BRANSON: I'm on my way to the transporter room.
Captain Branson EXITS sickbay.
EXT. SPACE [OPTICAL]
The USS Harrison-A approaches the Enterprise.
INT. TRANSPORTER ROOM, USS ENTERPRISE
[TRANSPORTER BEAM HUMS] As Captain Jamie Towe materialized on the transporter pad.
CPT. BRANSON: Captain Towe welcome aboard the Enterprise.
Jamie walks off the transporter pad.
CPT. TOWE: Where is he?
CPT. BRANSON: In our sickbay.
She EXITS the transporter room as John turns to Chief Mackenzie and follows her.
CUT TO:
INT. DOCTOR CARLSON'S OFFICE/SICKBAY, USS ENTERPRISE
ANGLE - MEDICAL MONITOR [OPTICAL]
shows Kyle's brain scans.
DR. CARLSON: As you can see Captain Towe Mister Clarkson's neural pathways are severally disrupted here and here along the prefrontal cortex.
CPT. TOWE: What do you suggest?
Steven looks at her.
DR. CARLSON: Neural surgery its the only way to save him but his neural pathways are badly damaged they'll need to be reconstructed its far beyond my medical skills or any other medical officer's skills.
Jamie looks at them.
CPT. TOWE: So what are you waiting for its obvious that the Vulcans are the only hope for Kyle.
CPT. BRANSON [sighs]: Apparently Admiral Barnes wants us to await the arrival of the Marie Curie to take him to Starbase 5 for a full medical work up.
CPT. TOWE: Excuse me? But as his girlfriend I object to that!
CPT. BRANSON: Its not your call Jamie.
She looks at him.
CPT. TOWE: John, he's not going to Starbase 5.
John looks at her.
CPT. BRANSON: We have our orders Jamie.
John EXITS Steven's office as Jamie follows him.
INT. DECK SEVEN CORRIDOR, USS ENTERPRISE
John walks to the nearest turbolift as Jamie catches up.
JAMIE: John, you know these orders are wrong we have to take him to Vulcan they can help him.
JOHN: Jamie, I'm not denying that but we have our orders to follow.
[TURBOLIFT DOORS WHOOSHED OPENED] As John enters the lift and Jamie follows him.
INT. TURBOLIFT CART, USS ENTERPRISE
John toggles the lever.
CPT. BRANSON [to com]: Deck 1, main bridge.
[LIFT STARTS MOVING] As John and Jamie stands in the middle.
JAMIE: John, I never meant to question your mission orders but I'm questioning these orders from the Fleet Admiral the man who precised over Kyle's trial.
JOHN: Jamie, he outranks any other Admirals so there's no one who can override his orders.
JAMIE: He's not going to Starbase 5 John that's the end of it.
[LIFT STOPS, LIFT DOORS WHOOSHED OPENED] As John walks out of the lift.
CUT TO:
INT. MAIN BRIDGE, USS ENTERPRISE
Both John and Jamie walk out of the lift.
CPT. BRANSON: Julia, what's the ETA of the Marie Curie?
LTJG. SMITH: At last report they're an hour away at warp 5.
Captain Branson walks to the Captain's chair and sits down in the chair.
CPT. BRANSON: Inform them that we're awaiting their arrival.
INT. SURGICAL BAY/SICKBAY, USS ENTERPRISE
Kyle lays on the biobed as Doctor Carlson gets ready to start the neural surgery but Kyle grabs Steven and throws him over the biobed.
INT. OUTSIDE SURGICAL BAY/SICKBAY, USS ENTERPRISE
A security guard gets out his phaser and fires it at Kyle but he moves out of the way and Kyle tackles the guard down and knocks him out cold as Christine sees this but Kyle doesn't attack her as he takes the phaser and EXITS sickbay as she goes and checks on the guard and toggles the com panel.
NURSE CHAPEL [to com]: Security Alert! Commander Clarkson has escaped sickbay Doctor Carlson and a security guard are down but alive.
Christine checks on the guard.
[DRAMATIC STING]

INT. DECK SEVEN CORRIDOR, USS ENTERPRISE [RED ALERT]
Lieutenant Mason and a security team are moving through the corridor wearing tactical vests armed with type-3 phaser rifles and type-2 hand phasers in the holsters.
LTJG. MASON [to com]: Mason to Branson we've covered deck seven section 13 so far no sign of Commander Clarkson.
INT. MAIN BRIDGE, USS ENTERPRISE [RED ALERT]
CPT. BRANSON [to com]: Acknowledged Jack keep searching for him. Julia have all personnel clear decks 7-10 I don't want him to harm anyone.
Jamie walks over to him.
CPT. TOWE: John, let me go and talk to him if I can reach him...
John turns to her.
CPT. BRANSON: No, I'm not allowing him to harm you.
Commander T'Lar turns to report.
LCDR. T'LAR: Captain, sensors are detecting a vessel approaching us its the Marie Curie.
[COM CHIRPS] As Lieutenant Smith reports.
LTJG. SMITH: Captain, the Captain of the Marie Curie is hailing us.
CPT. BRANSON: On screen.
ANGLE - TRANSPARENT VIEWER [OPTICAL]
shows the bridge of the USS Marie Curie and Captain Elizabeth Branson the sister of Captain John Branson.
CPT. BRANSON [smiles]: Ellie?
CPT. BRANSON [viewer]: John, its good to see you again little brother we're here to pick up Commander Clarkson
John walks to the viewer.
CPT. BRANSON: Ellie, we've got a problem Kyle has escaped from sickbay.
Elizabeth leans back in the Captain's chair.
CPT. BRANSON [viewer]: Do you need us to send over a security team?
CPT. BRANSON [shakes head]: No, we'll handle it.
CPT. BRANSON [viewer]: We'll be standing by if you need us
John nods.
[TRANSMISSION ENDS]
[TURBOLIFT DOORS WHOOSHED OPENED] As Doctor Carlson walks onto the bridge.
CPT. BRANSON: Steven I thought you were going to recover?
DR. CARLSON: John, you can't allow them to shoot Mister Clarkson.
CPT. BRANSON: What? Why not?
DR. CARLSON: My scans show that the neural parasite will kill Kyle if he's shot by a phaser on any setting.
LCDR. IVANOVA: So how do we stop him?
DR. CARLSON: If we can have someone reach him by talking to him.
CPT. BRANSON: You're crazy Steven we've got to find a better way to stop him.
DR. CARLSON: That's the only thing I could think of.
CPT. TOWE: I'll do it.
CPT. BRANSON: Not alone you are come on.
They both EXIT the bridge.
INT. MAIN CARGO BAY, USS ENTERPRISE
Kyle walks around the cargo bay.
[GAS HISSES] As Kyle looks around.
INT. OUTSIDE MAIN CARGO BAY, USS ENTERPRISE [RED ALERT]
Lieutenant Mason, Ensign Johnson, and Ensign Keller are armed with their phasers as Captains Branson and Towe are wearing tactical vests armed with type-2 hand phasers in the holsters.
LTJG. MASON: Bridge, reports that they've filled the cargo bay with 10ccs of anestazine and has cleared it so we can enter.
CPT. BRANSON: All right, now remember don't use your phasers we're going to talk to him.
[MAIN CARGO BAY DOORS WHOOSHED OPENED]
CUT TO:
INT. MAIN CARGO BAY, USS ENTERPRISE
The team enters the bay as John motions Mason, Johnson, and Keller to spread out to flank Kyle just in case talking to him doesn't work.
CPT. TOWE: He's here I can tell.
CPT. BRANSON: KYLE! WHERE ARE YOU BUDDY!
Then Kyle shows up.
CPT. BRANSON: Hey buddy look who I brought its Jamie.
Jamie gets between John and Kyle as John repositions himself as he aimed his phaser at Kyle but doesn't fire.
JAMIE: Kyle, its me Jamie your girlfriend do you recognize me?
Kyle grunts and growls.
JAMIE: Kyle, you're being controlled by a neural parasite that you may of came across when you were aboard the Jamestown.
Then a phaser bolt grazes Kyle's arm as he turns to see Ensign Keller and rushes him and kills the young officer by snapping his neck.
CPT. BRANSON: KYLE! STOP IT!
He turns to face John and rushes him and knocks the phaser out of his hand and John attempts to get some punches in but none effect Kyle who tosses John around like a ragdoll.
JAMIE: KYLE STOP IT!
John falls to the deck as Kyle looks over at Jamie who's shocked as she backs up.
[DRAMATIC STING]
[BLACKOUT, END OF ACT 3]
Act 4[]
FADE IN
INT. MAIN CARGO BAY, USS ENTERPRISE
Kyle pins Jamie against the bulkhead by her throat bending the bulkhead due to his enhance strength.
JAMIE [coughing, choking]: K-Kyle, p-please s-stop it.
She attempts to break free from his grip.
JAMIE [choking, coughing]: K-Kyle, s-stop it.
Then Kyle releases his grip on Jamie as he backs up.
JAMIE [coughing, choking]: K-Kyle.
Kyle backs up and staggers.
KYLE [grunting]: J-Jamie?
JAMIE [smiles]: Yeah its me.
Kyle starts to go to Jamie but he steps back as John stirs and gets his phaser aims it at Kyle as he sees Kyle holding his face as staggers back.
[MAIN CARGO BAY DOORS WHOOSHED OPENED] As Doctor Carlson enters.
[KYLE SCREAMS] As he falls to his knees and then lays flat on the ground as Doctor Carlson walks over to him and gets out his medical tricorder.
DR. CARLSON [re: medical tricorder]: He's gone into neural shock I need to get him to sickbay for neural surgery.
CPT. BRANSON: Go.
Doctor Carlson and Ensign Johnson quickly rush Kyle to sickbay.
EXT. SPACE [OPTICAL]
All three Starfleet vessels are next to each other.
INT. OUTSIDE THE SURGICAL BAY/SICKBAY, USS ENTERPRISE
John, Jamie, and Elizabeth are waiting as Doctor Carlson walks out of the surgical bay wearing surgical outfit.
DR. CARLSON: The neural surgery was a success.
EVERYONE REACTS
CPT. BRANSON [smiles]: Great job Steven.
DR. CARLSON: It was mostly Christine and her medical skills that did the trick she knew how to identify the parasite and remove it one piece at a time without killing Commander Clarkson.
CPT. TOWE: What's his recovery time?
DR. CARLSON: That's questionable his prefrontal cortex is so badly damaged none of our medical skills put together will be able to restore it.
CPT. BRANSON: Then what do you suggest?
DR. CARLSON: The Vulcans they can help restore his prefrontal cortex.
CPT. TOWE: Prep him for beaming to the Harrison we'll take him to Vulcan.
Elizabeth turns to her.
CPT. BRANSON: Not happening Captain he's going to Starbase 5's medcial ward.
CPT. TOWE: No he's not rotting away while it their psyche ward.
John EXITS sickbay where the girls follow him.
JUMP CUT TO:
INT. CAPTAIN'S READY ROOM/SITUATION ROOM, USS ENTERPRISE
JAMIE: He's going to Vulcan!
ELIZABETH: I've been given orders to take him to Starbase 5 and I'm going to follow those orders!
John looks at both ladies.
JOHN: You both are right but Ellie the Vulcans can help restore Kyle's mind if we take him to Starbase 5 they'll lock him up for the rest of his life.
[COM CHIRPS] As Commander Ivanova comes over the com.
LCDR. IVANOVA [com voice]: Captain Branson report to the bridge
All three Captains EXIT the ready room.
CUT TO:
INT. MAIN BRIDGE, USS ENTERPRISE [RED ALERT]
[KLAXONS BLARING]
[READY ROOM DOORS WHOOSHED OPENED] As Captains Branson, Towe, and Branson walk onto the bridge.
CPT. BRANSON: Report, Commander?
Commander Ivanova turns to him.
LCDR. IVANOVA: Commander Clarkson has killed Doctor Carlson and the guard that was guarding him Chapel is alive and well.
ANGLE - TRANSPARENT VIEWER [OPTICAL]
shows the shuttle fly over the saucer section and comes about.
ENS. MITCHELL: The shuttle's coming about bearing 216 mark 4!
LTJG. MASON: He's targeting the bridge!
CPT. BRANSON: Lock phasers and fire!
ANGLE - TRANSPARENT VIEWER [OPTICAL]
shows the phaser beam destroying the shuttle.
Jamie's in utter shock that John did that.
ELIZABETH: You had no choice John.
John looks over at her.
CPT. BRANSON: Stand down from red alert. Have Doctor Carlson prep Kyle for transport to Arcamon.
ELIZABETH [confused]: What, he's dead?
John looks at his sister.
JOHN: Nope, he's alive and well in sickbay the shuttle was on auto-pilot by Ensign Carlson.
CUT TO:
EXT. FEDERATION-VULCAN BORDER [OPTICAL]
The Enterprise's docked at Arcamon science station.
INT. DECK 34 CORRIDOR, ARCAMON SCIENCE STATION
Kyle's laying on a stretcher as both John and T'Ver are walking towards the medical area as T'Ver turns to him.
T'VER: It is grateful that you brought him to me Captain.
CPT. BRANSON: Your people are the only ones that can help him regain his mind.
T'VER: It was the logical choice we will take care of him.
Both T'Ver and John give each other the Vulcan salute and John heads back to the airlock.
EXT. FEDERATION-VULCAN BORDER [OPTICAL]
The Enterprise undocks with the Science station and moves away from the station and hot off into the distance into a burst of light.
