The Excalibur (NX-03) was a United Earth Starfleet NX-class starship in service in the mid-22nd century, under the command of Captain Bran Stiles. Exaclibur had a crew complement of 57.
- This ship shares its registry with Challenger (NX-03), which is also implicated to be the third NX-class ship built.
History[]
Along with Columbia, the ship was stationed at Starbase 1 in 2156 when five Romulan warbirds attacked the station, beginning the Earth-Romulan War. Fleet Captain Erika Hernandez of Columbia ordered Excalibur to flee the battle and warn Starfleet. Captain Stiles obeyed, but the ship was chased down by the faster Romulans and was lost with all hands except for Bryce Shumar, the ship's first officer, who left via a shuttlepod and warned Starfleet.
