Galen Walton Erso is a Human male MACO soldier who became the commanding officer of Inferno Squad. Galen's death would haunt Typhuss and Jyn for years, Galen was killed in 2386 during the mission to Eadu during the Federation-Der'kal War. Biography[]
Early life[]
Galen Walton Erso was born on the planet Earth to a human mother and father as an only child on June 23 in 2317. Growing up in a poor neighborhood, Galen demonstrated high intelligence from an early age. His mother, first to recognize her son's genius, supplied him with whatever he needed to keep his mind busy; first providing him a music synthesizer, chemistry set, and later whatever padds she could find. Upon entering primary school, Galen outlearned his fellow classmates and quickly grew bored. Galen's mother, eager for Galen to learn of the broader galaxy, subscribed him to a news service. By secondary school, Galen's teachers described him as a "prodigy." Galen excelled in the mathematics and the sciences, learned numerous languages and magic tricks out of pure curiosity.
Becoming a MACO[]
Galen joined the MACOs in the 2370s and by the 2380s he held the rank of Colonel. A few years later, he commanded Inferno Squad, a MACO squad. Galen went on a number of missions to protect the Federation from threats.
The Federation-Der'kal War[]
Battle of Scarif[]
Galen fought in the Federation-Der'kal War against the Der'kal Empire and fought many stormtroopers with his friend Typhuss and daughter Jyn. Galen took part in the Battle of Scarif in 2384 along with his daughter Jyn, his friend Typhuss and Inferno Squad.
Mission to Eadu and death[]
In 2386, Galen was part of the mission to Eadu, Galen was killed during the escape during the mission by stormtroopers after the Eadu Energy Conversion Laboratory was destroyed. Galen asked his friend Typhuss to watch after his daughter Jyn, Typhuss promised Galen that he would look after his daughter. Jyn who had watched the two from a distance, ran to the platform where her father lay dying, revealing herself to him in his final moments. After a few brief words with his daughter, Galen died from his wounds in Jyn's arms.
