Service history[]
In the 2250s decade, Captain Gabriel Lorca attempted a coup against Philippa Georgiou, Emperor of the Terran Empire. While Lorca gathered allies on Priors World in early 2256, the imperial flagship ISS Charon targeted the Buran for destruction. The ship exploded in an incoming ion storm, transporting Lorca into the primary universe as he beamed up. (Star Trek: DIS episode: "What's Past Is Prologue")
Later that year, the crew of the primary universe starship USS Discovery learned of the Buran's fate when investigating the roles of their counterparts in the mirror universe. (Star Trek: DIS episode: "Despite Yourself")
