In the mirror universe, the ISS Discovery (NCC-1031) was a Terran Empire starship, a Crossfield-class science vessel in Imperial Starfleet service in the mid-23rd century. The Discovery was under the command of Captain Sylvia Tilly. (DIS episode: "Despite Yourself")
History[]
Sylvia Tilly transferred to the Discovery from Imperial Starfleet Academy in or before 2256. After murdering the ship's commanding officer, Tilly assumed captaincy.
The USS Discovery disguised as its mirror counterpart
Around November 2256, the Discovery engaged and destroyed anti-Terran rebels. Stragglers were eliminated by the ISS Cooper. Unbeknownst to Terran forces, the Discovery unexpectedly traded place with its counterpart, the USS Discovery, from the primary universe. Captain Gabriel Lorca decided to have his ship and crew impersonate the ISS Discovery and their counterparts on that ship in order to survive in the hostile mirror universe. After the ISS Discovery found itself in the primary universe (due to its counterpart's translocation to the mirror universe), it was quickly destroyed by a Klingon armada seeking to avenge the death of General Kol. The wreckage was mistaken for that of the USS Discovery by Starfleet, leading to the latter being declared KIA. (DIS episode: "The War Without, The War Within")

The ISS Discovery had the same outward appearance as the USS Discovery, but lacked a mycelial powered spore drive. (DIS episode: "Vaulting Ambition")
