Irregular Procedures Part 1 is the 1st episode of Star Trek: Anubis in Anubis Season 1.
Synopsis[]
Kyle Clarkson is reassigned to take command of the Nova-class USS Anubis and train a crew of cadets on starship operations, but tensions mount as some of the cadets don't trust Kyle due to his past with Wey'tahn.

EXT. FEDERATION SPACE [OPTICAL]
The Enterprise approaches an M-class planet that's got a Spacedock type starbase in orbit of the planet.
CPT. BRANSON'S [voice over]: Captain's log stardate 53898.3, It's not often that losing a crewmember is a cause for celebration, but Kyle has been offered a posting to a starship that was mothballed a few years ago
INT. DECK 7 CORRIDOR, USS ENTERPRISE-E
Both John and Kyle are walking to the transporter room.
KYLE: So, what did Jean-Luc said about the Anbuis?
JOHN: She had the same issues as the USS Defiant when they attempted to bring her online in 2370.
KYLE: Wow.
JOHN: From what I was told by the engineers the Dominion War caused them to decide to mothballed it they wanted to design ships for the war effort, so they brought her here to Starbase 103 and she's been here ever since.
CUT TO:
INT. TRANSPORTER ROOM 2, USS ENTERPRISE-E
[TRANSPORTER ROOM 2 DOORS WHOOSHED OPENED] As they walk into the transporter room as they face the pad.
JOHN: You ready?
KYLE: I feel ready. Any advise from an old salty Captain?
JOHN: Don't show any weakness or they'll eat you alive.
Kyle looks at him.
KYLE: Really?
JOHN [snickers]: I'm kidding. You're going to have a great time. Go.
Kyle steps onto the transporter pad.
JOHN: Kyle, just remember don't over logical the situation or people will be a bit annoyed with it.
KYLE: Hey my over logicalness saved your butt several times remember those Cardassian cruisers?
JOHN: You just made our signature look like a Federation fleet.
CHIEF MACKENZIE: Starbase 103 is ready to receive Commander Clarkson sir.
JOHN: Just, er...one tip. You got this job because you're one of the best officers in the fleet but they'll be some who think that I got this assignment for you. Don't let that get to you.
KYLE: I'll try not to John.
JOHN: Energize.
Chief Mackenzie taps commands into the transporter console.
[TRANSPORTER HUMS] As Kyle dematerialized.
EXT. SPACE [OPTICAL]
The Enterprise moves away from Starbase 103 and shot into the distance into a burst of light.
[BLACKOUT, END OF TEASER, START CREDITS]
Act 1[]

EXT. PLANET ORBIT [OPTICAL]
[EPISODE NOTES: OPENING CREDITS FALL OVER OPENING SCENES]
A shot of the M-class planet and Starbase 103 and the drydock berth the USS Anubis is housed in it.
INT. OBSERVATION LOUNGE, STARBASE 103
Zerub Del a male Deltan in his late 20s early 30s wearing command red with two gold pips and one black pip on the uniform reviews Kyle's service record as Lieutenant Mavis Smart a young woman in her early to mid 20s wearing the science/medical uniform and two gold pips walks over to him.
LT. SMART: Are you Commander Zerub Del?
Zerub gets up and turns to her.
LCDR. DEL: Yes I am and you must be Lieutenant Mavis Smart.
They shook hands.
LT. SMART: Its a pleasure to meet you sir.
LCDR. DEL: Same here. So have you heard about our new Captain?
LT. SMART: No not really but I am hoping its not another Jellico style Captain I've had those Captains during my career.
[OBSERVATION DOORS WHOOSHED OPENED] As Captain Clarkson enters and Commander Del sees him.
LCDR. DEL: CAPTAIN ON DECK!
Everyone snaps to attention as Kyle walks to the podium and faces the crew.
CPT. CLARKSON: As you were.
The crew goes to at ease.
CPT. CLARKSON: While I'm thrilled to be your new Captain I want this to be a tightly run crew and ship but one that you're proud to be serving aboard.
He walks to Lieutenant Commander Zerub Del.
CPT. CLARKSON [re: PADD]: Lieutenant Commander Zerub Del ship's first officer.
LCDR. DEL: Yes, sir. And may I said its an honor to meet you and to serve under you as your first officer.
CPT. CLARKSON [re: PADD]: I've never met a male Deltan before most Deltans that I've encountered have been the female side of your race, you don't have that same rule that the females do?
LCDR. DEL: No, sir. The males of my race don't have a high sex drive so we don't have to take the oath of celibacy.
CPT. CLARKSON: Welcome aboard Commander.
LCDR. DEL: Thank you sir.
Del steps back as Kyle walks over to Lieutenant Smart and looks at the PADD.
CPT. CLARKSON [re: PADD]: Lieutenant Mavis Smart ship's science officer.
LT. SMART: Yes, sir.
Captain Clarkson reviews the PADD.
CPT. CLARKSON [re: PADD]: You served with Admiral Jellico aboard the Cairo before her destruction during the Dominion war.
LT. SMART [nods]: Yes, sir. But I can promise that I'll do my best as your science officer.
CPT. CLARKSON: Thanks Lieutenant.
She steps back as Kyle walks up to Lieutenant Conner Lewis a human male who's about in his mid to late 20s wearing the security/engineering uniform with two golden pips on his uniform.
CPT. CLARKSON [re: PADD]: Lieutenant Conner Lewis ship's chief of security/tactical officer.
LT. LEWIS: Yes, sir.
Captain Clarkson reviews the PADD showing Lieutenant Lewis's service record.
CPT. CLARKSON [re: PADD]: A few minor infractions at the Academy keep your nose clean and we'll get along well.
LT. LEWIS: Yes, sir.
Lieutenant Lewis steps back as Captain Clarkson walks over to Lieutenant Commander David Wise a human male who's in his mid to late 30s wearing the security/engineering uniform with two golden pips and a black pip, as Kyle looks at the PADD.
CPT. CLARKSON [re: PADD]: Lieutenant Commander David Wise she's chief engineer.
LCDR. WISE: Yes, sir.
CPT. CLARKSON: How are you doing getting to know the Anubis? from her schematics?
LCDR. WISE: I'm doing well sir but would love to get aboard her and get a good look at her.
CPT. CLARKSON: You might get your chance as soon as me and the engineering team get done reviving her.
LCDR. WISE: Aye, sir.
Wise steps back as Kyle walks over to a familiar face Doctor Saskai Takahashi a human female who's in her mid to early 40s and is wearing the science/medical uniform and two golden pips and a black pip that she received as part of her reassignment.
CPT. CLARKSON [surprised]: Saskai?
DR. TAKAHASHI: Captain Clarkson its good to see you again sir.
CPT. CLARKSON: Same here. All right be ready to board the ship at 1300 hours dismissed.
They continue to mingle as Kyle EXITS the observation deck.
INT. EVA LOCKER ROOM, STARBASE 103
The engineering team is gearing up as Captain Clarkson enters.
ENGINEER: OFFICER ON DECK!
They snap to attention.
CDR. CLARKSON: As you were.
They stand to face Kyle.
CDR. CLARKSON: All right, I've reviewed the situation and I am surprised that this vessel was decommissioned before she had a chance to explore the galaxy. So we're going to board her and restore every system and relay that wasn't installed.
Clarkson have a stack of PADDs as he looks at the engineering team.
CDR. CLARKSON: Biggs, Pierce. I want you two to go to engineering and work on restoring life support systems so we don't have to wear these bulky EVA suits.
CREWMEN BRIGGS: Yes, sir.
ENS. PIERCE: Yes, sir.
CDR. CLARKSON: Rivers and Strong I want you two to head to Junction tube 32 and realign the EPS power supplies this ship was suppose to be launched before the war started its a shame that they decommissioned her because of the war this vessel will launch with a new crew and Captain.
They look at each other.
CDR. CLARKSON: Let's get to work.
They put their helmets on their suits and head to the Anubis.
[BLACKOUT, END OF ACT 1]
Act 2[]

INT. INTERIOR STARBASE 103
The USS Anubis is docked at the outpost.
A MONTAGE OF IMAGES:
The engineers are hard at work focusing on restoring the Anubis to its former glory.
INT. STARBASE INTERIOR
The Anubis is docked.
INT. MAIN BRIDGE, USS ANUBIS
Kyle walks around the bridge as the engineers are at the stations.
CREWMEN BRIGGS: We're all set sir.
CDR. CLARKSON: Begin start-up sequence.
She taps commands into the engineering console.
INT. STARBASE INTERIOR
The Anubis powers up.
INT. MAIN BRIDGE, USS ANUBIS
Crewmen Briggs taps commands into the engineering console.
CREWMEN BRIGGS: Matter/anti-matter flow is at 120% and holding.
CDR. CLARKSON: That's good keep an eye on it and let me know if there's any changes.
She nods as he walks to the ready room doors.
[READY ROOM DOORS WHOOSHED OPENED] As he enters the ready room.
INT. CAPTAIN'S READY ROOM, USS ANUBIS
Kyle enters and looks around the ready room as he looks around the ready room and he walks over to the desk.
CPT. CLARKSON [to com]: Computer show me the service records of the 10 cadets that are coming aboard.
ANGLE - MONITOR SCREEN [OPTICAL]
shows the service records of the Starfleet cadets that are going to board the Anubis.
Kyle studies the records.

Act 3[]
FADE IN
EXT. WARP SPACE [OPTICAL]
The USS Stargazer travels to Starbase 103.
INT. MAIN BRIDGE, USS STARGAZER
The crew are at their stations as Lieutenant Crusher reports.
LT. CRUSHER: We're approaching Starbase 103.
RADM. PICARD: Drop us out of warp Mister Crusher.
Lieutenant Crusher taps commands into the helm station.
[WARP POWER HUMS DOWN] As Commander Branson taps commands into the side console and activates the ship-wide.
CDR. BRANSON [to com]: This is the first officer to all cadets report to the transporter room to beam to the Starbase.
INT. STORAGE ROOM, USS STARGAZER
Both Rachel Weir a human female in her mid to late teens and Carl Beathers a human male in his late teens are engaged in having sex with each other up against containers making them rock, as their uniform jackets are off in the distance.
[COM CHIRPS] As Ashley Bains comes over the com.
CDT. BAINS [com voice]: Bains to Weir
Rachel is too distracted with what she's doing with Carl to acknowledged.
RACHEL [PANTING]: Not yet, not yet!
They kiss deeply.
CDT. BAINS [com voice, annoyed]: Rachel, we've arrived at the Starbase we're beaming over now to meet our new Captain
Rachel had to push Carl off her and goes to her uniform jacket and taps her combadge.
CDT. WEIR [to com]: Sorry, Ash I'm on my way now.
Both Rachel and Carl get situated.
CARL: This was fun.
RACHEL: Huh, too bad we didn't finish.
Rachel kisses him and EXITS the storage room as Carl smirks and grabs his uniform jacket and follows far behind her.
INT. TRANSPORTER ROOM 2, USS STARGAZER
The cadets are beaming over to the Starbase.
[TRANSPORTER ROOM 2 DOORS WHOOSHED OPENED] As Rachel enters and her friend Ashley Bains a human female who looks to be in her mid to late teens and is a fourth class cadet turns to her.
ASHLEY: Late as usual Rach?
RACHEL: Nope, I'm just on time seeing that you're here still says it.
[TRANSPORTER ROOM 2 DOORS WHOOSHED OPENED] As Carl enters and smiles at Rachel as Ashley shakes her head.
ASHLEY: You're insatiable you know that Rach.
RACHEL [snickers]: You know it.
Their group walks onto the transporter pad.
TRANSPORTER CHIEF: Starbase 103 is standing by.
CDT. BAINS: Energize chief.
Transporter chief activates the transporter systems.
EXT. SPACE [OPTICAL]
The Stargazer turns to starboard as her warp engines power up and she shot off into the distance.
INT. TURBOLIFT CART, STARBASE 103
Captain Clarkson stands in the middle of the cart thinking if he's ready to show these cadets the ropes of being a Starfleet officer.
INT. OBSERVATION DECK, STARBASE 103
The cadets are mingling with each other.
ASHLEY: Do you know who our CO is?
RACHEL: No, not really I was just told to report to the Stargazer.
CARL: I hope its Captain Branson or Commander Ro they're the best of the best in the fleet.
Both Ashley and Rachel look at Carl.
RACHEL: I don't think Starfleet would reassign Captain Branson or Commander Ro from the Enterprise.
T'Varen a Vulcan male who's in his late teens human standards sits with them.
T'VAREN: Logic dictates it could be someone new.
Zachary Frye a human male who's in his mid teens sits with them.
ZACHARY: Let's hope its not Commander Clarkson because I don't wanna be taught by someone who nearly screwed the Federation over.
ASHLEY: Zach, he was cleared of all charges and he was framed.
Zach rolls his eyes.
[OBSERVATION DECK DOORS WHOOSHED OPENED] As Captain Clarkson enters as Cadet T'Varen sees him and quickly rises to his feet.
CDT. T'VAREN: CAPTAIN ON DECK!
The cadets snap to attention as Captain Clarkson walks over to the same podium as he turns to face them.
CPT. CLARKSON: As you were.
They go to at ease.
CPT. CLARKSON: Thank you all for coming I'm Kyle Clarkson and I'm thrilled to be your Captain.
CARL [sotto]: Great, we're stuck with the murderer of Wey'tahn.
RACHEL [sotto]: Carl, like Ashley said he was cleared of all charges.
CPT. CLARKSON: Now most of you are probably thinking this is a bad idea and you're right this is a bad idea but due to the threat of the Romulans about to go to war with each other Starfleet wants you all to be ready in case we have to get involved but I don't think we will. And if you all have a issue with me being in command of a starship address me in private never show it in front of the crew store your gear in your quarters and report to the bridge in an hour dismissed.
The cadets pick up their duffel bags and start moving towards the airlock to the Anubis as Kyle looks at the cadets as well as Cadet Beather and Frye who aren't thrilled to see him.
[BLACKOUT, END OF ACT 3]
Act 4[]

INT. STARBASE INTERIOR, STARBASE 103
The Anubis is at station keeping.
INT. CADET BEATHERS' QUARTERS, USS ANUBIS
Carl unpacks his duffel bag as he looks at the new uniform he'll be wearing while he's aboard the Anubis.
INT. CAPTAIN'S READY ROOM, USS ANUBIS
ANGLE - MONITOR [OPTICAL]
show's John's ready room aboard the Enterprise.
JOHN [monitor]: So, how are you settling into your new role?
KYLE: I'm way out of my debt here John you should be here they respect you.
JOHN [monitor]: Kyle, you've got this and I have faith in you I've seen you command before yes it was an engineering team but you do have the command skills you just need to bring them out but don't be tough on them their just kids
KYLE: I'm just nervous.
JOHN [monitor]: I understand good luck Kyle I've got faith in you
Kyle looks at the monitor.
INT. STARBASE INTERIOR, STARBASE 103
The Anubis is docked.
INT. MAIN BRIDGE, USS ANUBIS
The senior staff and the cadets are on the bridge as Captain Clarkson walks around the bridge.
CPT. CLARKSON: On the bridge, we depend on the smooth functioning of every crewmen at every station. You are the Captain's eyes, ears, and hands. You must function as one perfectly tune unit.
He looks at Cadet Beathers.
CPT. CLARKSON: Mister Beathers, I've read your service record you've got command experience you've got the bridge.
CDT. BEATHERS [nods]: Aye, sir.
Captain Clarkson joins Commander Del as Cadet Beather walks to the Captain's chair and sits in it.
CDT. BEATHERS: Cadet Bains hail the dock master request permission to depart.
Cadet Bains taps commands into the console.
CDT. BAINS: Dock Master has cleared us for departure.
CDT. BEATHERS: Mister Beech, engage thrusters and take us out.
At the helm station next to ops where Cadet Weir is currently sitting at is Cadet 5th class Magnus Beech who's a human male who's in his mid to late teens.
CDT. BEECH: Aye, sir.
INT. STARBASE INTERIOR, STARBASE 103
The Anubis slowly moves towards the space doors as they opened.
EXT. SPACE [OPTICAL]
The Anubis exits the bay doors.
INT. MAIN BRIDGE, USS ANUBIS
CDT. WEIR: We've cleared spacedock sir.
CDT. BEATHERS: Mister Beech set course 2-1-3 mark 12 speed warp 1 then when we're settled take us to warp 7.
Cadet Beech taps commands into the helm station.
CDT. BEECH: Course laid in and speed set sir ready to get underway.
CDT. BEATHERS: Engage.
Cadet Beech activates the warp drive.
EXT. SPACE [OPTICAL]
The Anubis's warp engines power up and she shot off into the distance into a burst of light.
EXT. ROMULAN SPACE, ROMULUS ORBIT [OPTICAL]
A shot of Romulus as its flanked by the Romulan home guard fleet.
INT. ROMULUS SURFACE - DAY [OPTICAL]
An establishing shot of the capital of Romulus.
INT. SENATE CHAMBER/ROMULUS SENATE BUILDING
Proconsul Yeshva is present.
SUB-CDR. T'REL: We must attack the Federation now while we have the element of surprise Proconsul if we don't then our enemies that are trying to restructure the way we run things and make peace with our enemy!
PROCONSUL YESHVA: We must trust the Federation if we are to survive and you will cease these talks of using a wormhole of our own to attack Earth or you will be put to death.
T'Rel nods and EXITS the chambers.
EXT. ROMULUS ORBIT [OPTICAL]
The IRW Melak a Velmalk-class cruiser that was reactivated to replace the severe losses of Romulan capital ships during the Dominion War.
INT. MAIN BRIDGE, MELAK
[BRIDGE DOORS WHOOSHED OPENED] As Commander T'Rel walks onto the bridge as she looks at her crew.
SUB-CDR. T'REL: We have been ordered by the Senate to move forward with the testing of the wormhole drive set course for the rendezvous point warp 8.
HELM OFFICER: Yes, Commander.
Doctor Sirol walks up to her.
DR. SIROL: Did they really give you permission?
T'Rel looks up at him as he backs off.
EXT. SPACE [OPTICAL]
The Melak and her escorts depart from orbit and enter warp one at a time.
