Early life

John Branson was born on August 3rd, 2333 on Earth in Knoxville, Tennessee at Children Hospital to both James Branson and Maria Branson, John enjoyed his time with his family when he was at the age of 12 he went with his mother to Narandra III to discuss terms of the peace accord with the Klingon Empire.

When all of the sudden the outpost was attacked by 4 Romulan battle cruisers she attempted to make contact with the USS Enterprise-C but there was no response John and his mom were separated from each other, John searched for his mother and found her alive.

That massacre stuck with John for the rest of his life knowing at how dangerous the Romulans are he went to high school where he met Kyle and the two became good friends after he graduated from High School at the age of 18 John decided to enter Starfleet and was accepted.

Starfleet service career

Academy First year (2350-2352)

Cadet first class Branson entered Starfleet Academy and never knew how much he would be learning during his time there, but he made the most of his time there learning and educating himself.

While at the Academy he met his soon to be mentor and friend Jean-Luc Picard where the good Captain too a liking to John and his determination he would spend years watching his career.

Academy Second year (2352-2353)

Cadet second class Branson was a sophomore at the Academy where he ran into his old friend Kyle who got bumped up from freshman to sophomore due to his time with Doctor T'Ver, there the two would meet their future lovers Jessica and Jamie.

John would help Kyle with his studies in engineering.

Academy Third year (2353-2354)

Cadet third class Branson was a junior at the Academy where he and his class took a tour of Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards to see the newly designed Galaxy-class vessels that were being constructed for the new era of the Federation.

After that trip John went to work on studying the Galaxy-class design and is impressed by what he's seeing as both him and Kyle who was his roommate are amazed by the design.

Academy Fourth year (2354)

Cadet fourth class Branson was a senior at the Academy he enjoyed his final time at the Academy as he trained hard to make sure that he learns enough before he graduates.

He graduated in 2354 with honors.

USS Lexington

In 2354 Crewman Branson was posted to the New Orleans-class USS Lexington under the command of Captain Roger Stern, on his first deep space assignment Branson encountered a pre-warp race that mistaken his tricorder for some magical talisman and came close to burning him at the stake without the timely beaming of his crew.

Crewman Branson also encountered the Cardassian Union and at one point he was captured by them and tortured for 3 days by Gul Madred, he was rescued by both the Lexington and Stargazer he was put on extended leave to recover from his ordeal but it greatly effected him and how he felt about Cardassians years to come.

USS Zeus

In 2356, after his recovery from his capture and torture at the hands of the Cardassian Union John was posted to the Ambassador-class USS Zeus under the command of Captain T'Ro a Vulcan Captain who took the cautious approach to missions. Much to the annoyance of John who was an Ensign at the time of his posting aboard the vessel.

John encountered Cardassians during the Border Wars and he didn't like that the war ended because of the pacificst of the new Federation President.

During his time aboard the vessel after the war John was assigned as the new tactical officer with the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade and he spent the later half of the 2350s aboard the vessel before being reassigned to Starbase 211.

Starbase 211

In 2360, aboard Starbase 211 John was a security officer and it was a very boring assignment John never wanted to serve aboard a Starbase because of his father stating this is where careers go to die.

He seek reassignment to a starship and was granted the request.

USS Resolute

In 2363, Lieutenant Branson was posted aboard the New Orleans-class Resolute there he met then Ensign William Davis and the two became good friends, even worked together to get a few assignments done.

John got to see the galaxy.

USS Saratoga

In 2366, Lieutenant Branson was later posted to the USS Saratoga under the command of Captain Stroil he got to meet Lieutenant Commander Benjamin Sisko and his wife Jennifer Sisko, and their young Jake Sisko. He was present during the Massacre of Wolf 359.

USS Enterprise-D

After his recovery from the events at Wolf 359 John was posted to the Federation flagship Galaxy-class USS Enterprise-D under the command of Captain Jean-Luc Picard, John enjoyed his time aboard the vessel where John learned about himself and was considered for command training which he took.

John got to explore the wonders of the galaxy and meet new races and different problems.

Deep Space 9/USS Defiant

After the destruction of the Enterprise-D John was posted to the Federation/Bajoran station Deep Space 9 where he saw his former Saratoga crewmate Commander/Captain Benjamin Sisko and former Enterprise crewmates Miles O'Brien and Worf.

He was present during the Dominion War and he fought in every major engagement he was even present during the signing of the Treaty of Bajor.

USS California

He was posted to the Excelsior-class USS California as first officer under the command of Captain John Walker, as he enjoys his time aboard the heavy cruiser meeting new and different life forms and civilizations.

John enjoyed his time aboard the California as its first officer but his career began to sag after he found out about his ex-wife cheating on him.
