Jyn Erso, her father affectionately referred to his daughter as "Stardust", is a Human female MACO soldier who became a pivotal member of Inferno Squad during the Federation-Der'kal War. With little support from the Federation fleet, Jyn, Captain Kira and Captain Cassian Andor led a squad, Inferno Squad, to Scarif where they stole the tactical data from the Der'kal security complex. She transmitted the tactical data to the Federation fleet that arrived in orbit, Jyn, Typhuss, Andor and the rest of Inferno Squad escaped aboard a runabout with the rest of the Federation fleet. After the Battle of Scarif, Jyn, Andor, Typhuss and other members of Inferno Squad got formal reprimands from Starfleet Command.
