The Kelvin class is a technologically advanced type of starship employed by Starfleet during the 23rd century.

Design[]
Structurally, the vessel consisted of a flat and wide saucer section with a ventral spine that housed the deflector dish at the ship's bow. The starship bridge sat atop the saucer's center, and was flanked by a flat, angular secondary hull. On either side of the engineering section a nacelle pylon was attached, which held the ship's long warp nacelles.
Energy generation[]
The vessel is powered via multiple sources including; an Anti-Matter x Matter drive which generated enormous amounts of power through explosive collisions releasing pure light (energy) which is then harnessed directly into FTL and several other systems and regulated through a matrix of magnets and dilithium.

The class is equipped with an advanced warp drive system powered by a matter x antimatter reactor. It utilises the Alcubierre concept ie: compressing space-time around the exterior.

These ships possessed a impulse drive system which was essentially a assembly of augmented fusion rockets, consisting of one or more fusion reactors, a coil assembly, and vectored thrust nozzles to direct the plasma exhaust.

- Tractor beam emitters: It features one forward positioned and one ventral mounted tractor beam generators that projects a beam of attenuated gravity at a target thus allowing for the manipulation of its trajectory.
