Kylo Ren, a power-sensitive male Human who is a enforcer, warlord, assassin and champion of the Der'kal Empire, and Master of the Knights of Ren. Through the teachings of his master, Supreme Leader Vur'naa, Ren came to embrace the dark side, the former person known as Ben was now evil and not on the light side. However, he still felt the pull of the light side, resulting in much conflict within him. Yet despite his inner struggle, Ren believed it was his destiny to rule the galaxy. He was also determined to destroy the Federation, believing it was time to forge a new galactic order in the galaxy.
In the waning days of the war, Ren oversaw the hunt for the Federation; his intention to destroy the Federation and Earth. This journey ultimately led to Ren's encounter with the Jakku scavenger Rey, whose own strength in power mirrored Ren's, and with whom he shared an unprecedented power-bond with. They became allies as their connection grew stronger following Starkiller Base's destruction in 2387, leading to the assassination attempt on Vur'naa during the war with the Federation. With ambition fueled by the dark side, however, Ren continued to pursue his goal of galactic domination, causing Rey to withdraw her support despite Ren entreating her to rule by his side. At this point, the Separatists had fallen; the Federation was defeated at the Battle of Crait; a MACO squad sacrificed themselves to save the surviving Federation forces on Crait.
In 2392, Ren was able to kill his master, Vur'naa, Ren claimed the mantle of Supreme Leader and ultimately led to the second war with the Federation, four years after the Empire's defeat in the first war.
In 2397, Darth Rey killed her former master, Kylo Ren during her rebellion against the Der'kal Empire. Rey later formed the New Der'kal Empire in the aftermath of Kylo's death and the collapse of the Der'kal Empire, Rey declaring herself Empress, attacked the Der'kal fleet and forced the Empire's military to recognize her as leader. Rey and her new Empire attacked the Federation, starting a new war, the Galactic War.
