Laurel Lance is a female meta-human vigilante. Laurel is a citizen of Star City on Earth-53. She is the daughter of the late Quentin Lance and Dinah Lance (after whom she was named), the older sister of Sara Lance, the maternal aunt of an unnamed child, she is the ex-girlfriend of Typhuss James Halliwell and the ex-wife of Craig Windrow. Laurel is the longtime friend of Oliver Queen, Thea Queen, Emiko Queen, Typhuss James Halliwell, Iris West-Halliwell, Felicity Smoak, Dinah Drake, Helena Bertinelli and Tommy Merlyn.
When Justin Claybourne unleashs some monsters in Star City and Quentin worked as a bounty hunter to apprehend them, when Quentin died, Laurel became the vigilante known as the Black Canary, the second Canary of her beloved city.
Laurel forms her own vigilante team, called Team Black Canary, Laurel and her team fight to protect Star City from crime, corruption and other threats to their city. (Black Canary)

Laurel Lance was born to Quentin Lance and Dinah Lance and raised in Star City alongside Sara Lance, her younger sister. In her childhood, Laurel's father worked a lot, which caused friction between them.
A rebellious and tricky teenager growing up, Laurel was implied to have been a mean girl, often using her beauty to get what she wanted.
