The Oberth class is a technologically advanced type of starship utilised by Starfleet during the 23rd century.

Design[]
The Oberth-class design was atypical among Federation starships of the time. The outboard plan of the Oberth's design incorporated a unique split hull design, with an upper primary hull that was composed mainly of the saucer section, which was mounted onto a rear extension that mounted the impulse drive, and warp drive nacelles to either side to the saucer. The secondary hull was connected to the primary hull at the nacelles by reinforced pylons. The secondary hull itself was oblong in shape.
Design features of the secondary hull included a docking port located on the port side of the hull.

Energy generation[]
The vessel is powered via multiple sources including; an Anti-Matter x Matter drive which generated enormous amounts of power through explosive collisions releasing pure light (energy) which is then harnessed directly into FTL and several other systems and regulated through a matrix of magnets and dilithium.

- Tractor beam generators: The class features multiple tractor beam emitters that project a beam of attenuated gravity at a target thus allowing the manipulation of its trajectory.

The class is armed with three phaser emitter banks that fire pulsed beams of nadion radiation particles at a target.
Defensive systems[]
- Deflector shields: It boasted a high-capacity shield grid to protect itself from various threats, such as impacts from bolides and debris, various space-related and energetic phenomena and hostile weaponry. As a science vessel, the Oberth-class was designed with specialized shields, which allowed them to push through gravitational wavefronts.
In conjunction, the interior bulkheads were composed of victurium alloy to better facilitate shielding.

The class is equipped with an advanced warp drive system powered by a matter x antimatter reactor. It utilises the Alcubierre concept ie: compressing space-time around the exterior.
