Phloxx-tunnai-oortann was a male Denobulan physician who served as chief medical officer during the historic voyages of the Enterprise (NX-01) under Captain Jonathan Archer.

Family[]
Like most Denobulan males, Phlox had three wives, who in turn each had three husbands. His first wife was Vesena who bore his eldest son, Vleb. His second wife was Feezal, with whom he had a daughter, Vaneel, and who once visited him aboard Enterprise. His third wife was Nullim, who bore his youngest son, Mettus. Phlox had two other children, another son, Tullis, and another daughter.
Early life and career[]
Phlox began his career as a doctor in 2114.
He also served as chairman of immunology at his alma mater. Phlox was considered honorable.

Enterprise[]
In February of 2152 Phlox was assigned to decontaminate the quarters of Crewman Daniels, who had been revealed to be a time-traveler from the 31st century. While in Daniels quarters, Phlox discovered a device that allowed him to travel through time at will. He decided to use the device to time travel to 2124 and rescue Xesophia, then love of his life, before the accident in which she drowned. He speculated that if she'd lived he would have married her.
The device didn't work as Phlox hoped, and he was only able to travel back ten months, shortly after Enterprise's launch. With Daniel's assistance, Phlox was able to use the device to return to the proper time, but not before glimpsing a possible future in which Enterprise was under attack by Nausicaan pirates.
In 2153, Archer was infected by interspatial parasites from a spatial anomaly and consequently developed anterograde amnesia, Phlox was unable to remove the organisms, because they existed in a spatial domain outside the one inhabited by Phlox, Archer, and the others. After the Xindi destroyed Earth and most of mankind, Phlox did not accompany Enterprise to the Ceti Alpha system. Rather, he returned home to Denobula, where he spent a decade consulting with his planet's best neurosurgeons and quantum physicists on the best way to remove the parasites from Archer's brain. Having been told this could only be done with a subspace implosion which would kill Archer as well, Phlox set to work on creating a non-lethal way to treat the captain. When such a way was developed in 2165, he returned to Ceti Alpha V with this cure.
Phlox thereafter treated Archer aboard Enterprise, as only a warp engine could produce the power necessary to destroy the parasites. After an initial treatment, Archer was cured. Phlox returned to Enterprise as CMO under Captain Charles Tucker III. During the battle against the Xindi in the Ceti Alpha system, Phlox and the rest of the crew of the Enterprise were aided by the USS Intrepid-A , which had come from the future from the year 2385, and were able to fight off the Xindi.
