In the alternate mirror universe, Sarek was a Vulcan male who had a distinguished career as the Vulcan ambassador to the Terran Empire throughout much of the 23rd century.
Spock's plan and the Maquis[]
In 2267, Sarek decided to support his son, Spock's plan to reform the Empire and eventually establish a republic. Following Spock's assassination in 2277, Sarek and Spock's widow, Marlena Moreau, intended to keep Spock's vision alive by establishing the resistance movement which became known as the Maquis.
Over the next ninety years Sarek used his exceptional diplomatic skills and organizational abilities to bring the various enemies of the Terran Empire under the banner of the Maquis and by the 2360s, the Maquis was made up of members from dozens of species from across the Alpha and Beta Quadrants, including renegade Klingons, Romulans, Cardassians, Tholians, Ferengi and the Breen.
Unfortunately by the mid-2360s, Sarek was over two hundred years old and he realized that he would not live to see out Spock's vision, therefore he started passing the responsibility of running the Maquis to his two most trusted lieutenants: Selok and Christopher Mackenzie. By 2368, Sarek had completely withdrawn from public life and the day-to-day running with the Maquis, and eventually succumbed during the onset of Bendii Syndrome.
