John leans forward.

KYLE [monitor]: They wanted me dead John the Admiralty the people that are behind Starfleet Fleet Admiral Barnes is the prime suspect in all this but I can't prove it, because I know the truth John. Whatever should happen to me, go to Arcamon Science station along the Vulcan border

John is confused as to why Kyle's instructing him to go to Arcamon.

KYLE [monitor]: I keep all the raw data on every mission and engineering experiments in an encrypted computer banks there. The access code is Charlie, Two Seven, Four, Kilo, Epsilon then use your Starfleet authorization code to identify yourself. The truth is in here John, damn them with it. I'm sorry that it had to end this way, but I've always trusted your judgement. I always have

[TRANSMISSION ENDS] as the camera pans back to show the senior staff and Captain Branson.

CPT. BRANSON: That's what was sent to me hours after we left Wey'tahn.

The senior staff looks at each other.

LTJG. MASON: How do we know that it was sent from Commander Clarkson?

LTJG. SMITH: I was able to check the transmission codes and it matches the time code.

LTJG. MASON: I find it hard to believe that he was able to send a transmission days before that neural parasite took over his mind.

CPT. BRANSON: I share your skeptical Jack but if there's a way to help Commander Clarkson regain his career we've got to explore it.

LCDR. IVANOVA: I agree.

CPT. BRANSON: Where are we with the scans of the sample T'Lar?

Commander T'Lar reports.

LCDR. T'LAR: So, far the scans are slow going but we are making head way I will know more once the scans are completed.

ENS. CARLSON: I hate to be the darkness here but what about a certain Fleet Admiral that is so obsessed with keeping the Andorians as an ally?

CPT. BRANSON: For now we'll keep it quiet where are you on finding out who's been sending those transmissions?

LTJG. SMITH: I've gone over the communications logs between the time of our mission at Wey'tahn to now it seems whoever was doing it wiped the logs clear.

CPT. BRANSON: Have Commander T'Lar give you a hand I wanna know who's been sending what from my ship dismissed.

The senior staff EXITS the ready room.

EXT. WARP SPACE [OPTICAL]

The Enterprise travels to Arcamon.

INT. SCIENCE LAB IV, USS ENTERPRISE

Ensign Hansen sits at the main science console as on the table the sample from Wey'tahn.

LCDR. T'LAR: Report Mister Hansen?

ENS. HANSEN [sighs]: I've gone backwards and forward and I've not been able to detect whatever the Captain has us searching for.

LCDR. T'LAR: For some reason the geothermal reactor malfunctioned without warning and little notice and it killed not only 1,209 Andorian colonists but 1,345 Vulcan colonists as well it would be illogical for us not to find something that could shed some light on what happened there.

ENS. SHERIDAN: We're not giving up Commander.

LCDR. T'LAR: Let me know if and when you find something.

ENS. HANSEN: Yes, ma'am.

ENS. SHERIDAN: Yes, ma'am.

Commander T'Lar EXITS the science lab.

CPT. BRANSON: Let's see it.

ANGLE - TRANSPARENT VIEWER [OPTICAL]

shows the Vulcan outpost as its Vulcan designed.

LCDR. IVANOVA: That's a big station.

CPT. BRANSON: Yeah it is Z it was suppose to be a Starfleet research outpost but it was given to the Vulcans as a show of good faith when the Federation was formed and it was refitted to Vulcan standards.

ENS. MITCHELL: Meaning, a very boring station.

John turns to Lieutenant Smith at the communication console and reports.

LTJG. SMITH: Captain, we're being hailed by Arcamon its head researcher Doctor T'Ver.

Captain Branson gets up from the Captain's chair and walks to the viewer.

CPT. BRANSON: On screen.

ANGLE - TRANSPARENT VIEWER [OPTICAL]

shows the research command center.

CPT. BRANSON [smiles]: Doctor T'Ver its good to see you again.

DR. T'VER [viewer]: You as well Captain Branson but this is an unexpected surprise

CPT. BRANSON: Yeah, sorry to come here unannounced but I couldn't risk Admiral Barnes knowing our destination he could of tried to stop us from solving the mystery of Wey'tahn's destruction and Kyle's unexpected discharge from Starfleet, with your permission I'll beam over there and explain the rest its too risky to explain the full story over coms.

Doctor T'Ver is a bit hesitate to allow John aboard.

DR. T'VER [viewer]: Very well Captain

[TRANSMISSION ENDS] As John walks to the lift.

CPT. BRANSON: Z, you've got the bridge.

CPT. BRANSON [smiles]: You too T'Ver how's Kyle is his mind repaired?

DR. T'VER: His recovery is proceeding remarkably well he is currently regaining his memories of the last few hours before and during the neural parasite take over.

CPT. BRANSON: That's good I've got a transmission from him at least a few weeks before he was infected by the neural parasite stating that I come here to get the information from his computer terminal.

DR. T'VER: Yes his terminal is here we have been trying to get gain access to it but so far we have had no success.

CPT. BRANSON: I can fix that.

He puts his hand on the screen as it lights.

CPT. BRANSON [to com]: Computer unlock terminal code Charlie, two, seven, kilo, epsilon. Authorization code Branson Gamma delta 14.

ANGLE - COMPUTER MONITOR [OPTICAL]

shows the information.

Captain Branson inserts a data tape into the slot and starts the download of data.

DR. T'VER: How is his sister and Captain Towe?

CPT. BRANSON: Anne is determined to fight to get her brother's trial restarted and as for Jamie we're not on speaking terms after I pretended to kill Kyle to hide him from Section 31 and the Andorians.

ANGLE - TERMINAL SCREEN [OPTICAL]

DOWNLOAD COMPLETED

John takes the data tape.

CPT. BRANSON: Thanks for allowing me to do this.

DR. T'VER: Kyle, has come to think of you as a brother that he never had besides Anne save him Captain.

Captain Branson nods and gets out his communicator and flips it open.

CPT. BRANSON [to communicator]: Branson to Enterprise one to beam up.

LCDR. T'LAR: This data is fascinating Captain.

John looks at her.

CPT. BRANSON: What can you make of it T'Lar?

Commander T'Lar taps commands into the console.

LCDR. T'LAR: From what is in the data is that Commander Clarkson had the geothermal reactor was operating at 89% power as you stated in your report to Starfleet.

CPT. BRANSON: Can it be used?

LCDR. T'LAR: It is possible I'll know more once I have a good look at the data.

Captain Branson turns to the sample container holding the soil sample of the planet.

CPT. BRANSON: Anything on the sample?

LCDR. T'LAR: We are making head way on it sir.

CPT. BRANSON: "You'll know more in a few hours". Right keep me posted.

Captain Branson EXITS the science lab as Commander T'Lar and her science team are working hard.

INT. LIVING ROOM AREA/JACK & STEPHANIE'S QUARTERS, USS ENTERPRISE

Jack sits at the desk taps commands into the monitor.

LTJG. MASON [to com]: Computer. Establish an encrypted com-link. Starfleet frequency 79-Baker.

ANGLE - MONITOR SCREEN [OPTICAL]

shows the office of Commander Harris.

CDR. HARRIS [monitor]: Mister Mason

LTJG. MASON: You told me that they were going to take Commander Clarkson to the nearest medical outpost not lose their lives?

CDR. HARRIS [monitor]: I'm sorry that it had to come to that but they knew the risk and they just didn't understand that Mister Clarkson was crazy

LTJG. MASON: We just came from Arcamon Science station he's got the raw information from Commander Clarkson's personal terminal at the station and he and T'Lar are currently reviewing it along with a sample we obtained from the planet.

Commander Harris leans back in his chair.

CDR. HARRIS [monitor]: If he gets that to Starfleet it could be trouble for us

Unknown to them Stephanie is listening as she's laying in the bed.

EXT. FEDERATION SPACE [OPTICAL]

The USS Farragut approaches the Enterprise.

INT. SCIENCE LAB IV, USS ENTERPRISE

[SCIENCE LAB DOORS WHOOSHED OPENED] As Fleet Captain Kirk enters.

FCPT. KIRK: I should demote you to Commander.

John turns to his friend.

CPT. BRANSON: Jim, you told me to never give up on my friends you would of done the same thing if it was Leonard or Spock.

FCPT. KIRK [sighs]: You're right I would of done it regardless of orders good to see that I taught you well on how to handle orders John.

ANGLE - SCIENCE MONITOR [OPTICAL]

shows the three data blocks.

FCPT. KIRK: So, what am I looking at?

CPT. BRANSON: The first data block is what the Enterprise recorded during the mission to Wey'tahn and the second one is the raw data that Kyle had sent to his terminal aboard Arcamon station and the third is what was put in our sensors by whoever got into our computer systems without us knowing.

Captain Branson taps commands into the console.

ANGLE - SCIENCE MONITOR SCREEN [OPTICAL]

shows the two data blocks matching as the third is pushed out.

FCPT. KIRK [confused]: W-What happened to the third data block?

CPT. BRANSON Two data blocks gave it the boot.

Kirk walks over to the table that has the soil sample.

FCPT. KIRK: What's this?

Captain Branson looks at him.

CPT. BRANSON: Its the sample from Wey'tahn T'Lar compared the scans of the sample and the two data blocks and they match as well.

FCPT. KIRK: So someone wanted Commander Clarkson out of the way and the only way to do that was to discredit him.

CUT TO:
INT. CAPTAIN'S READY ROOM/SITUATION ROOM, USS ENTERPRISE

ANGLE - WALL MONITOR [OPTICAL]

shows the briefing room at Starfleet Command.

CPT. BRANSON: As you can see the two data blocks and the sample of the soil match someone wanted him out of the way.

FADM. BARNES [monitor]: I don't believe it he caused this incident and nearly cost us our alliance

VADM. HALSEY [monitor]: Maybe we should give Mister Clarkson another trial

FADM. BARNES [monitor]: You can't be serious about this Tom he nearly cost us the Andorians as a major ally!

ADM. OZAWA [monitor]: I agree with Tom on this one Mike

Fleet Admiral Barnes EXITS the briefing room.

VADM. HALSEY [monitor]: We'll discuss this situation later

[TRANSMISSION ENDS] As both Kirk and Branson look at each other.

[BLACKOUT, END OF ACT THREE]

Act 4[]

FADE IN

EXT. SPACE [OPTICAL]

Both Enterprise and Farragut are next to each other.

INT. CAPTAIN'S READY ROOM/SITUATION ROOM, USS ENTERPRISE

John sits in the chair behind the desk.

CPT. BRANSON: I thought that it would be easy to convince them of Kyle's innocents but with Admiral Barnes speaking in their ears it'll be next to impossible.

Jim looks at him.

JIM: Yeah, but I might be able to get through to them if I can get them to at least consider looking at his trial it maybe the only way to get him back in uniform.

John has the data tape in his hand and then hands it to Kirk.

JOHN: I trust you Jim.

[READY ROOM DOORS CHIMED]

CPT. BRANSON: Come.

[READY ROOM DOORS WHOOSHED OPENED] As Commander Williams enters.

LCDR. WILLIAMS: Sorry to interrupt sir but I know who's been sending those transmissions.

A few hours later.

LTJG. MASON [confused]: I'm not sure what you're getting at sir.

CPT. BRANSON: Your wife informed me that you've been speaking with someone from Starfleet intel giving them information on my mission to restore Kyle's career.

Lieutenant Mason stands firm.

CPT. BRANSON: I asked you question Mister Mason!

LTJG. MASON: Respectfully sir I refuse to answer.

John looks at him.

CPT. BRANSON: Mister Johnson please escort Mister Mason to the brig he's confined their til further notice.

ENS. JOHNSON: Aye, sir Mister Mason.

Jack leaves the ready room under escort.

INT. MAIN BRIDGE, USS ENTERPRISE

John walks onto the bridge and walks to the command well.

CPT. BRANSON: Mister Mitchell you're acting chief of security.

ENS. MITCHELL: Aye, sir.

CPT. BRANSON: Kara, set course for our next mission.

ENS. CARLSON: Aye, sir.

LCDR. IVANOVA: I hope that Kirk can convince them.

CPT. BRANSON: Me too Z.
