A phaser rifle (often referred to as a type-3 phaser) is a rifle variation of the standard phaser used by the Terran Empire. A type-3 phaser is the Empire's classification for the type of phaser weapon that is usually considered a rifle. This standard for phaser rifles refers to those weapons used by the Empire in the 23rd and 24th centuries.
The phaser rifle fired discharges of red bolts of concentrated energy, the phaser rifle also had a rapid fire mode. The phaser rifles came equipped with 16 power settings, fully autonomous recharge ability, multiple-target acquisition, and gyro stabilization.
