The USS Aurora is a MBP-305 warship in service to the Federation, Starfleet in the 24th century, originally constructed by China under the name Mao Zedong. Both to remove the name of a dictator from the ship registry and to honor Sanders's own fallen ship, the 305 was rechristened Aurora, and was instrumental in retaking Earth from the Der'kal. With human control of the planet regained, the Aurora has returned to its original role as one of the SGC's frontline cruisers in the Milky Way.
The Aurora is the second MBP-305 warship produced by the Federation.
The Aurora is commanded by Colonel Via Sanders.
