The USS Gates
The USS Gates was a Kelvin-class Federation starship in service in the early 23rd century.
History[]
Sometime around 2223, the Gates had to withdraw from the observation of a nova and return to Starbase 9 to effect minor repairs. Ensign Robert April noted in his personal log that these repairs could've been completed by the Gates's crew themselves if the ship had been designed to be more self-sufficient.
