History[]

Construction[]

During the Dominion War several design teams were looking at creating an entirely new class of ship to combat the Jem'Hadar next to the Prometheus-class and Sovereign-class starships, but most of the shipyards were damaged during the Breen's assault on Earth in 2375 so the war ended and the designs for the new class of ship was selfed until the start of the Xindi War in 2379. The design team built four of the ships along with the USS Kingston and the ship was tested and failed and was rebuilt from the group up again most of the Asgard technology wasn't installed yet. (Star Trek: Kingston)

Launch[]

In the year 2379, the USS Kingston was launched and Starfleet pressed the Kingston into service at the start of the Xindi War due to the heavy losses they're suffering against the Xindi and placed newly promoted Captain John Tyson in command and he got to pick his crew. (Star Trek: Intrepid)
