In 2152, two unnamed Kumari-class battlecruisers joined Commander Telev's ship to reinforce the Andorian Imperial Guard at Weytahn during a dispute with the Confederacy of Vulcan.

The Enterprise leads an Andorian fleet
In 2154, the Earth starship Enterprise (NX-01) found the IGS Kumari and two other Kumari-class starships hidden in a nebula. Along with two smaller Sevaijen-class Andorian cruisers, the total of six ships intercepted a Vulcan invasion fleet bound for Andoria, and battle ensued. The battle ended when the Vulcan government was toppled, and no ships were lost.
Ambassador's ship[]
This Kumari-class battlecruiser was carrying an Andorian ambassador to a conference on Babel alongside the Kumari when the two ships were attacked by a Romulan drone ship disguised as a Tellarite cruiser. The ambassador's ship was destroyed within seconds, with all hands lost.

During the Babel Crisis, several Kumari-class ships were part of the allied fleet led by Enterprise to detect Romulan incursions. Several battle cruisers were incorporated into an Andorian-Tellarite-Vulcan fleet which consisted of some 128 ships, formed in response to a Romulan marauder that threatened the entire region.

In 2163, Kumari-class battlecruisers formed the bulk of the Federation task force formed to deal with the rise of Vertian attacks on ships in local space. Although these battlecruisers were large, they were dwarfed by the even larger Malurian warship Rivgor.

In 2155, two Kumari-class battlecruisers were part of a rebellion fleet fighting against the rule of the Terran Empire. The fleet engaged the Imperial Starfleet NX-class starship ISS Avenger but obliterated by the USS Defiant, which had been captured by Terran forces. The Defiant destroyed the Tellarite, Vulcan and one Andorian ship. The remaining Kumari-class ship was damaged and allowed to limp away in order to spread fear among the rebels.
According to General Thy'lek Shran's intelligence, the bulk of the rebel's Suurok-class and Kumari-class ships underwent repairs in the asteroid field of the Devolin system. This turned out to be a ruse.
