Veronica Stadi was a female Betazoid Starfleet officer who briefly served aboard the USS Voyager in 2371.
Biography[]
Veronica Stadi, daughter of Gwendal and Anissina Stadi, was born on Betazed in 2347.
In 2364, Stadi entered Starfleet Academy and graduated in 2368 in the 96th percentile. Ensign Stadi obtained her third-level pilot certificate and was assigned to the Mars-Saturn run in the Sol system. With this run, she had what was considered the best overall on-time record in five years and was excellent in navigating the Sol system's asteroid belt.
In 2369, Stadi was promoted to lieutenant (j.g) and was assigned as a test pilot aboard the prototype USS Intrepid. While aboard the Intrepid she increased pilot efficiency by 33%. While piloting the Intrepid on a test run near Alpha Draconis in 2370, the starship encountered a previously uncharted quantum filament. Stadi managed to maneuver around the filament, preventing damage and destruction.
In early 2371, Stadi was promoted to full lieutenant and was assigned as conn officer aboard the USS Voyager. Before boarding Voyager she was assigned to transport Tom Paris via shuttlecraft to Voyager from Starbase 41 to Deep Space 9; during this time, she rejected his advances.
Unfortunately, Stadi's service aboard Voyager was short because during the starship's first mission into the Badlands the ship was flung 70,000 light years across the galaxy to the Delta Quadrant, and resulted in the death of Stadi.
Stadi's interests included astropaleontology and classic Betazoid literature.
- While Stadi clearly was killed during the events of "Caretaker", the Starship Creator computer program indicates that she was "severely injured" and served as Tom Paris' relief.
Alternate timelines[]
In an alternate timeline in which the Cardassian Union did not withdraw from Bajor in 2369, Stadi was the flight controller of a version of Voyager which was not stranded in the Delta Quadrant by the Caretaker in 2371.
She was killed in 2373 when Voyager was destroyed in the Dorvan sector by a fleet of Cardassian Galor-class warships armed with phased polaron beam weapons, which they had procured from their newfound Gamma Quadrant allies, the Dominion.
